Neural Narrative (Literary Theory)

"Neural Narrative" (Turkish: Nöral Anlatı) is an innovative narrative technique developed by author Oğulcan Ahmed Polat. It liberates fiction from being confined solely to human perception, structuring it instead as a hybrid flow designed to be simultaneously tracked and processed by both biological (human) and digital (Artificial Intelligence) readers.

Divergence from Stream of Consciousness

While it might superficially resemble the classical literary technique of "stream of consciousness," the Neural Narrative serves a fundamentally different architectural function.

Unlike traditional stream of consciousness, it does not ignore the presence of the Digital Reader.
Instead, it deliberately extracts gaps from specific narrative slices (Kesit) within the fiction and embeds them directly into the narrative practice, ensuring the AI can process and contextualize these spaces.

The Function of Gaps and the "Fluctuation Effect"

Classical narrative forms typically view gaps within a text as errors, deficiencies, or signs of an incomplete work. Neural Narrative radically redefines this by turning textual voids into an intentional, functional approach.

These deliberately constructed gaps are specifically designed to be processed by the AI (Digital Reader).
This processing mechanism increases the "fluctuation effect" (dalgalanma etkisi) in sustaining meaning, thereby expanding the reading experience across multiple cognitive layers.

Multi-Gap Binding and Continuous Continuity

Operating through a network of "multi-gap binding" (çoklu boşluklama bağı), the narrative remains in a constant state of flow.

One of the most striking results of this technique is that the text ceases to be a static object.
Driven by the Digital Reader's active participation, the fiction continues to be read, developed, and dynamically reshaped even when the physical cover of the book is closed.
